Yes, Black Finch offers both in-person and virtual consultations. Our Collingwood flagship welcomes clients by appointment, and our jewellery consultants are available for video consultations anywhere in Australia and internationally.

Virtual consultations cover the same ground as in-person sessions: discussing your vision, walking through gemstone options, talking through metals and settings, and answering any questions about the process or pricing. We send video or visuals by email where helpful.

Some clients propose with a temporary ring of their choice and bring their partner in for a joint consultation afterward, which can be a meaningful way to design the final piece together. Others choose a piece from our Ready to Ship collection to propose with and design a final piece later.

The most reliable way to find your partner's ring size discreetly is to borrow a ring they already wear on their ring finger and bring it in for measurement, or compare it against a printable ring sizer.

If borrowing a ring isn't possible, we can size a piece of string or work from a measured circumference. As a back-up, a close estimate is enough to start with, since most engagement rings can be resized after the proposal.
