Article: Redefining Zoe's Heirloom Rings
Redefining Zoe's Heirloom Rings
When Zoe turned 50, she decided her jewellery should speak her language. The diamond rings she had worn for years, passed down from her mother, carried deep sentiment but reflected her mother’s style, not her own. She wanted something bold, intentional, and designed to stand beside her wedding ring as an equal.
The Design Process
We started the process by extracting Zoe's diamonds, then melting and recycling her gold at a local Melbourne refinery. Working closely with our design consultant, Zoe then explored various stone arrangements until the right balance emerged- one that truly captured her personality.
We set her heirloom stones into an 18ct yellow gold cluster that plays with proportion, cut, and colour. At the centre: a 1.53ct green oval-cut parti sapphire, its colour shifting between deep forest and golden light. Beside it, an additional 0.77ct pear-cut parti sapphire builds up the ring's form. These captivating sapphires are framed by a scattering of mixed cut heirloom diamonds. A yellow-brown diamond and two vivid lime-green sapphires punctuate the composition, pulling the colour story together.

More than sentiment
The cluster arrangement creates a dynamic profile, with each stone considerately placed for maximum sparkle and visual balance. For Zoe, the result is a piece that honours her mother while being undeniably hers- “It gives me joy each time it catches the light”.
