Stories Recast: Paola's Heirloom Re-design

Our darling client, Paola, brought us a remarkable collection of heirloom pieces her parents once carried across the sea, from Italy to Australia. Rings that didn’t fit quite right. Styles that weren’t hers. Precious objects filled with meaning, waiting for a new life. Some were ready to be transformed. Others, far too meaningful to change.

She came with a vision: to create something she could wear every day. A daily connection to her family, her Italian roots, her story.

Two wedding bands, still engraved with her parents’ initials and wedding date, were kept intact and reimagined into a custom necklace. Now, they sit close to her heart, worn, not hidden. 

Through our new circularity initiative, we were inspired by her mother’s engagement ring. Refining the gold, but honouring its essence through texture and setting style. The result? An 18kt yellow gold tapered band, textured, with a princess cut natural diamond set in platinum. Grounded in sentiment, crafted with care.

These pieces now live on, not in drawers, but on her body, a symbol of family, memory, and quiet strength.
